Estate Planning - When is a good time to make a Will?

Created by Connolly O'Neill LLP

A question I am asked occasionally. When is the right time to make a will.
Sooner rather than later is the simple answer. Many of our clients devise one early in life and revise it several times as they get older. Estate Planning and ultimately forming a legal will is an important step in your day to day life. It is important to protect your property. If something were to happen to you and no legal Will is in place your assets are distributed according to law rather than according to your actual wishes.

Estate planning allows an individual to provide for the special needs of family members and furthermore it can also be used with proper advice as a tax planning opportunity. Things change with time, for example most assets will appreciate in the long term and named beneficiaries may actually die before you. So it is important to review you Will regularly. Call or Email Us to make an appointment to organise a will or if you need more information on any issues of Estate Planning.
